Unite for HER founder Sue Weldon, a breast cancer survivor and long-time gymnastics coach, recognized that gymnastics events offer a unique opportunity to encourage breast health awareness among girls and young women while raising funds in support of women with breast cancer and their families.

In 2009, with the help of our local and gymnastics communities, Sue created the Pink Invitational~Gymnasts Unite three-day competition and outreach event. Hosted by AJS Pancott Gymnastics National Training Center, the Pink Invitational unites gymnasts in a United States Gymnastics Association sanctioned Junior Olympic meet where athletes compete in a sport they love while supporting breast cancer initiatives and learning about the importance of lifelong wellness.

The Pink Invitational has successfully raised over $2.0 million to finance Unite for HER programs. Each year over 3,000 gymnasts participate and over 10,000 attendees gather in unity to honor and celebrate the lives of those affected by the disease.
